Snellville asked to help brighten a local senior’s day

Volunteers are being sought for a special Snellville event that will seek to add some sunshine to a senior’s day.

Neighbor Love has organized a day that will see local people craft gift bags for residents of Scepter Health & Rehab of Snellville, and also serve a special Mother’s Day Meal at the facility. The organizers of the activity noted that this will help to both brighten a senior’s day and remind them that they are valued by the community.

Volunteers will both serve the meal, which has been provided courtesy of Carlyle’s Catering, and they will also deliver the gift bags. Each of these will contain a bottle of hand lotion, a piece of fruit, and a word search book in large print. A rose will also be included, as will a Mother’s Day card that has been made by hand.

The planners of this initiative are seeking donations from the community. Contributions are tax deductible, and it was noted that any amount will be appreciated. Anyone over the age of 7 can volunteer, but children will need to be accompanied by an adult. Those who would like to lend a hand are encouraged to invite their friends to take part or make a donation, as this can help to ensure the effort will be a success. Items crafted by a poster printing company can aid in promoting the occasion to the community.

This opportunity to let local seniors know they have not been forgotten will be held on Saturday, May 12. More details are available on its Patch website listing.
