Snellville area conference to show love for local agriculture

October 29, 2016 by

More people in Snellville are becoming interested in buying locally sourced food. An upcoming event for those who operate farm markets, farmers, and people who just enjoy all that these shopping experiences have to offer, giving them knowledge they can use to get the most from local agricultural operations.

‘Food for Thought’ is a two-day conference that will bring together a variety of stakeholders with those who are experts in this economic sector. There will be both presentations and workshops, all designed to help those in the farmers’ market community keep their businesses moving successfully forward into the future.

The event has been designed around four different tracks, which include how to create a sustainable agricultural business, the social impact of agriculture, and also how those engaged in agribusiness can make sure they put as much into caring for themselves as they do for their business. Participants can select the sessions that will be of the most interest to them. Variable data printing can be used to produce name tags, folders, and other printed items that have been customized with the name of each person who has registered to take part.

The symposium will take place on December 1 at Gwinnet Technical College in Lawrenceville. Tickets are $225 each, with a discount being offered for Georgia Farmers Market Association (GFMA) members.

More information and an opportunity to purchase tickets is available on the event’s website.
