Grants can help not-for-profit organizations receive the funding they need to perform their activities in the community, and an event has been planned for the Snellville area that will give those who take part tools they can use when they apply for grant funding.

The Introduction to Finding Grants workshop, which will be held in the Lawrenceville branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library, will give those who take part information about how to find grants and other sources of funding, and also how to write applications for them. An assortment of topics will be addressed, including who provides not-for-profit groups with financial support, what they will want to know about the organizations that make an funding application and also how to approach individuals, companies and others about sponsorship.

Atlanta’s Foundation Center and the Gwinnett County Public Library have partnered to offer this presentation to the public, and all are welcome. It will be held on May 5, in the Five Forks Branch, which is located in Lawrenceville. There is no cost to participate, but those who are interested are asked to register ahead of time. Digital copying can be used by the organizers of an event such as this with copies of the handouts and other materials they will be using.

Anyone who would like to find out more, or who wants to reserve their seat, can visit the event’s Patch listing for additional details.
