Annual event to support awareness

October 3, 2017 by

Talking and painting with be on the agenda this week at the eighth yearly Valley Goes Pink.

The event is called Paint for Pink and will take place at Shelton’s Vazzy’s Cucina. Residents of the Lower Naugatuck area are encouraged to come by the restaurant at 706 Bridgeport Avenue to enjoy food, drinking, and learn about painting from an artist from the area. All those who attend must have a reservation.

The event is a fundamental effort involving much of the Lower Naugatuck Valley residents in order to spread information and activism for breast cancer, and how essential it is to detect it early. The Valley Goes Pink also aids Griffin Hospital’s Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness. At the event, the organization shares how other groups they work with help the cause of breast cancer awareness.

Interested individuals who want to attend Paint for Pink or other events hosted by Valley Goes Pink in the future can call the Development Fund at Griffin Hospital, Sue Petrizzo, or Jodi Dawley. Valley Goes Pink is also on Facebook and has a website.

Promotional drinkware such as mugs and water bottles are good souvenirs for events that raise money for charity, since people like to remember that they participated in such events and the proceeds can help further the cause.

This event takes place this Thursday, October 5, starting at 6:30 pm.
