Scottsdale runs the Rock-N-Roll

The Rock–n-Roll Marathon will be here in a few days.

Along with the 26-mile marathon, runners will be able to opt for a half-marathon, a 5K, 10K, a one-mile run, and kids can enter the Kids Rock.

The marathon will begin at Arizona Center run through South Scottsdale, go south through Phoenix, and end in Tempe. There will be a Secure Zone at the end of the race where runners will receive water and refreshments and get their finisher’s medals.

A family reunion area will allow runners to find their friends and family and enjoy live music. Here, family and friends can take pictures of their favorite runners for later poster printing.

Kids Rock Arizona will have eight races, beginning with one for 11 and 12 years and ending with the Crawler Diaper Dash. Distances are geared to the age of the race participants.

Each participant will receive a gear bag, a finisher’s medal, and passes for the post-race concert and finish line festival.

Rock’N’Roll Arizona will be from this Friday through Sunday (January 12 through 14). The Marathon is slated to begin on Sunday at 7:00 am at the Arizona Center at 2nd Street and Van Buren in Phoenix, and end at Rio Salado Parkway at Ash in Tempe.

Kids Rock will take place on Saturday at Tempe Beach Park, with races starting at 10:00 am. All other race information can be found on the event’s website.
