Scottsdale goes to Spamalot fundraiser

April 10, 2018 by

Scottsdale Community College Musical Theater and Culinary Arts will be hosting Spamalot – the Fundraiser in a few days.

The event will have two culinary options followed by a performance of the Monty Python musical Spamalot in its outdoor music amphitheater.

The first option will be the VIP King’s Court Dinner & Show. The dinner will be served in the Olde English Family Style. The evening will begin with pre-show entertainment and that will be followed by a silent auction and a first course including Spam, baked brie, spiced pumpkin seeds, grilled prawns and pickled vegetables. Everyone will no doubt want to try the Scotch eggs with Spam.

The main course will have the option of roast beef, roast pork belly, chicken, and roast salmon, and there will be vegetable options and dessert. The king’s court will then escort the diners to their reserved seats in the amphitheater.

The one-hour Hors d’oeuvre Reception, the second option, will have 10 selections such as smoked ham, Spamon croquettes, Spam pâté, Spam kabobs and vegetable crudité. This culinary option will also include pre-show entertainment, the silent auction and the Spamalot performance. The college will surely want to take pictures of the performance for its 2019 brochure printing.

Proceeds will go to the Musical Theater & Culinary Arts Scholarship Funds.

Spamalot – the Fundraiser will be this Friday, April 13 at the SCC Outdoor Music Amphitheater, 9000 East Chaparral Road. The dinner will begin at 5:30 pm and the reception will run from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
