Schenectady invited to shake things up in support of maternal mental health

Men, women, and kids are all welcome to come to a Schenectady event that will see them take part in Zumba to raise funds for postpartum mental health awareness and support.

The entry fee for the two-hour activity is $20 each, and those who participate will be able to dance and have fun. There will also be an assortment of vendors who will be setting up shop, so the attendees can browse through what they have to offer.

A special group of activities will be provided for the kids, and raffles have also been planned. Instructors will be on hand to help and guide anyone who needs it, and the planners noted that they hope it will be a fun time for everyone who comes out. The occasion is being held as part of Maternal Mental Health Awareness month, and the proceeds will be donated to the New York chapter of Postpartum Support International in memory of Cynthia Wachenheim. Pamphlets that provide more information about the cause can be produced for distribution during this type of event by a brochure printing company.

The Zumba will begin at 2:00 pm, and the doors will be open to the participants at 1:30 pm. This way, they will have a chance to do some browsing and buying from the vendors before the dancing begins.

This activity that has been planned in support of maternal mental health will be taking place on May 5 at the Capital District YMCA. Further details can be found on its event listing.
