Santa Rosa hosts meet up for minis

Automobile enthusiasts in the Santa Rosa area will be preparing for the Mini Meet West 2017. The show brings in many different generations of the iconic car with races, rallies, and more.

Hundreds of Mini Coopers are expected to show up for the meet, from the latest designs to rare and lavishly restored classic models to outrageously modified specialty and track cars. No take on the mini will be rejected in this celebration of a vehicle that event organizers describe as being at once a rally, auto cross, and show car.

The festivities include the Show and Shine, a competitive car show that will group the automobiles by category and then give out prizes to the winners of each category as well as the best in show. The next day will feature an Autocross race which will offer an extreme handling challenge to competitors.

For participants who don’t feel the need for speed, a Funkhana obstacle course race will also be set up testing a variety of skills. Finally, an off-road rally will be held followed by a farewell banquet the following day where prizes including cash, promotional products, and more will be awarded.

Mini Meet West 2017 will be held from June 26 to 29 at various times and locations around Santa Rosa. Registering a car for the event costs $150 per vehicle, which can be done through the website, though visiting many of the events is free to the public.
