Sacramento goes to Home for the Holidays

Downtown Sacramento will be bringing in the holiday spirit with is annual Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra’s Wells Fargo Home for the Holidays 2017 in December.

The event will have Baritone Matt Hanscom as this year’s guest artist. The guest chorus will be Sacramento Children’s Chorus conducted by Alex Grambow. Vibrance Barbershop Quartet will be singing in the lobby before the two performances.

The performances will feature Christmas music that will include both familiar and new choral orchestral holiday songs. The Audience will be invited to join in a sing-a-long and there will be a candlelit procession.

The Green Alley Theatre Company will be providing puppets designed by Christopher Cook. This year the puppets will be recreating “The Grinch.”

Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra has over 160 choral members and 55 professional musicians in its orchestra. For over 21 years the organization has been bringing choral orchestral music to the Greater Sacramento Region. Sacramento Children’s Choir, which has been in operation since 1993, is composed of 200 local children from ages 7 through 19. Proud parents will be taking pictures of their promising young singing stars for 2018 family calendars.

The Wells Fargo Home for the Holidays will be on December 9th at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium, 1515 J. Street, Sacramento. The matinee performance is slated for 2:00 pm, and the evening performance will be at 7:00 pm.
