Orienteering event planned near Royersford

Those who consider themselves to be skilled at orienteering are invited to put their skills to the test during the Orienteering 5k, which has been planned for the Royersford area.

Those who register for the competition will use the map provided to find their way to the 10 stations that will be set up in various locations throughout the forest, and the entire route will be approximately five kilometers. The time required to complete the course will depend upon which route the different competitors choose. People are invited to race on their own or as part of a team, and the event is geared for those who are 10 years of age or older.

Anyone who is interested in taking part is asked to register ahead of time. There are different start times to choose from, and each person who signs up will be sent the time they will begin before the race. The team or person with the best time will be considered to be the winner. A local printing company will be able to provide copies of maps and other items for distribution to the participants in a day spent out in the woods such as this.

This Orienting 5k will be held on June 10 at the Althouse Arboretum, which is located at 1794 Gilbertsville Road in Pottstown. More information and an opportunity to register has been made available on the arboretum’s website.
