Annual festival celebrates the phoenix

The 13th annual Firebird Festival is taking place next month in Phoenixville. Proceeds from the event will go to support local charities.

Local musicians will be performing in at least 24 downtown stores. Some parts of Bridge Street are going to be closed to traffic so that craft and food vendors can offer their merchandise for sale.

There will be a Candlelight Holiday Tour from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Tickets are $25 each and will benefit Ann’s Heart Code Blue Shelter and the Firebird Theatre.

The main part is the event is the burning of a huge wooden structure of a phoenix. There will be a parade from downtown to the bird site, and it will be set alight at approximately 8:15 pm.

The schedule of entertainment is yet to be released, but handouts will be included with the official programs with listings. An official T-shirt will also be available for purchase.

Visitors from nearby communities such as Royersford will likely be making the short trip to attend this popular annual festival. Programs, most likely provided by a local printing company, will no doubt be distributed in the community.

The Firebird Festival will take place in downtown Phoenixville on December 3 beginning at 3:00 pm. To get the latest information about the festival and the entertainment schedule when it is released, visit the official event Facebook page.
