Redondo Beach retailer turns to internet for success

Kelly Fedio of Redondo Beach is a retailer reaping the rewards of e-commerce. In a recent article, she said she is planning to rebrand her store, expand the product line, and update its virtual storefront.

Within one year, her business, One Savvy Life, went from a startup to earning seven-figure income by selling through online retail giant Amazon’s web platform. One Savvy Life sells products designed to accompany outdoor activities, such as water bottles, water infusion products, backpacks, portable chairs, and picnic cooler bags.

E-commerce is changing the way small retailers build their businesses. What used to be a slow, painstaking process can now be expedited by taking advantage of virtual storefronts offered by the likes of Amazon.

Virtual storefronts make use of graphic design to entice buyers with high-quality images, product and company information, and easily accessible ordering protocols. Selling through Amazon offers smaller retailers like One Savvy Life access to huge markets and a wide range of prospective customers – opportunities that such retailers are unlikely to be able to obtain on their own.

However, it’s not just about the web platform: Fedio’s advice to small retailers hoping to achieve similar success is to network with local communities and fellow entrepreneurs for support, inspiration and continual motivation. Business cards are still integral to forming such essential professional connections.
