The 69th annual 2017 Redding Rodeo is coming in a few days. Last year, this rodeo was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame.

A pre-rodeo kick-off event will be the Rodeo 2017 Steak Feed and Dance.

The first day of the rodeo will open with Western Heritage Day. Here, the rodeo gives children the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes as it gets ready for the big event.

The calf roping, mutton busting, steer wrestling, RRA Jackpot barrel racing, team roping, saddle bronco riding, and of course bull riding will start that afternoon and continue for the next four days. The rodeo will also feature the 2017 Wrangler PRCA Pro-rodeo Champions Challenge.

The second day will be the fifth annual Chicks N Chaps. Women belonging to the Redding Rodeo Assn. Auxillary will be meeting for a day of socializing. Some activities will be stick horse barrel racing, Dutch and live auctions, speakers, and dummy steer roping. Photo opts will be available on a pink horse named TA TA. These pictures can be used for many projects, such as personalized stationery and future poster printing.

The final day will be the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Day to support Breast Cancer Awareness.

The fun will be from May 17 through 20 at the Redding Rodeo Grounds, 715 Auditorium Drive, Redding.
