Redding festival celebrates World Peace Day

Vital Art will be holding an Art Festival for Peace in a couple of weeks. This will be in commemoration of National World Peace Day, and will be free and family friendly.

A Pause for Peace will be held right at the beginning of the event and on every hour after. There will be an opening Peace Talk followed by a music performance by Goodtime Jazz and a few other groups. The evening will be emceed by Crooked Crew, the country music duo from 107.1 morning radio. A Stand Up Poetry session will take place in the afternoon, and fire dancing will end the evening’s entertainment.

Peace exhibits will be set up by local nonprofits and businesses. Wellness advocates will be passing out information flyers and displaying and selling their goods and services. Local artists will be selling their one-of-a-kind creations.

Children can enjoy getting their faces painted and other activities. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Fresh Gourmet and other local food businesses.

Redding’s Women of Vision will be holding a fashion show. Talks will be presented, and a free open art area will be set up for those orators wishing to share their views on peace.

The World Peace Day celebration will be from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm September 21 at Riverfront Amphitheater, 712 Auditorium Drive, Redding.
