Music legend Willie Nelson is going on tour with his Outlaw Music Festival, and has announced the artists who will join him on the road. The tour will begin in Raleigh this summer, and Nelson promises to bring a varied group of musicians with him.

New artists will be added at the tour progresses. At the announcement he made recently, Nelson said that the people who will be with him to start off include Old Crow Medicine Show, Alison Krauss, Ryan Bingham, Elvis Costello, and Sturgill Simpson. Also appearing in Raleigh is Delta Rae, with more to be announced.

The tour’s next stop is Charlotte, North Carolina, where Nelson will appear with the same artists, with the addition of Brandi Carlile. This time, the performance venue is the PNC Music Pavilion.

Thus far, there have been nine performance dates announced, to take place in Raleigh; Dallas, Texas; Little Rock, Arkansas; Detroit, Michigan; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Bristow, Virginia.

Nelson was born in 1933, and struggled for years before his albums ‘Shotgun Willie’, ‘Red Headed Stranger’, and ‘Stardust’ made him a recognizable figure in country music.

The tour begins in Raleigh on May 25 at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek, and ends in The Woodlands, Texas, on July 1. Tickets are on sale now.

Organizers of events like this might work with a poster printing company to create advertising for the shows.
