Holiday events lighting up the Raleigh area

One of the most beautiful holiday traditions is the light display, and there are a number of celebrations taking place throughout the Raleigh area.

One of these is Meadow Lights, which can be found near Benson, at 4546 Godwin Lake Road. Here, 30 acres are decorated with lights in a show that began over 40 years ago.. Although visitors can see the lights without entering the property, a train is available that covers over 10 acres. There is a carousel as well, plus a candy shop. Admission to the property is free, but the train and carousel cost $2.

In downtown Wendell, the Lake Myra Christmas Lights offer a 30-minute show featuring almost 400,000 lights that have been synchronized to music. This display is at the corner of Cypress and Third Streets. Admission is free, and people are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, sit back, and relax.

Meadow Lights opens this Friday, November 17, and runs through December 31. The Lake Myra Christmas Lights are on display November 22 to December 31, from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm Sundays through Thursdays, and 6:00 pm until 11:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

A flyer printing company can create handouts for visitors to this sort of event, listing the attractions available, and perhaps including a map of the property.
