Biggest party in North Carolina is in full swing

For the 150th year, North Carolina is throwing a party and inviting everybody from around the area, as the North Carolina State Fair opens.

With games, rides, contests, food, and more, the fair is truly a state event, resembling the old-fashioned, family-friendly events of the past.

The event is being held at the fairgrounds in Raleigh, with different events scheduled each day. There are dozens of attractions and events for people to enjoy, including live music, rides, games, livestock shows, and a flower and garden show.

Visitors will be able to examine antique farm equipment displayed in a special exhibit, and children can have fun exploring the ‘Field of Dreams’ – a miniature farm that will help them learn where the food they eat comes from. A mobile dairy classroom will help everyone understand the practices necessary to maintain a modern dairy farm.

Grandstand shows are free in some cases, while others require admission. They include the likes of tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and a stunt show. The fair’s ‘Homegrown Music Fest’ brings musicians of all kinds to entertain on three different stages, and there are all kinds of fair food for everyone to enjoy.

The fair runs through this Sunday, October 22.

For large events like this that encompass a number of venues, a flyer printing company can create a handout for visitors listing the attractions and where and when they can be found.
