Alamo Drafthouse opens in Raleigh

April 17, 2018 by

Fans of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema chain of theaters have been begging for their favorite movie house to come to Raleigh, and they got their wish: a new Drafthouse is having a soft opening, with a grand opening to come soon.

Although this location is the 31st for the chain, it has some features that are not found anywhere else. The theater has 11 screens and can seat a total of 700 patrons. A restaurant is also on the premises, and the bar has 48 local brews available, but the most unusual thing about the place is the Video Vortex. Here, managers who obviously love movies have one of the largest collections of DVDs and VHS tapes in the world, and they rent them out free of charge. People who would like to watch a tape and no longer have a VCR can rent that too, for $9.95 per week.

According to Josh Schafer, VHS Culture Captain, he and his staff would like to make their customers’ movie-going experience unforgettable, so they plan to interact with patrons in various ways, such as having people running through the audience, and showing off props from the films.

The grand opening is slated for April 26, 2018.

Events like this can be even more colorful if a banner printing company is consulted to help decorate the venue.
