Upcoming lunch honors public safety heroes

The 36th annual Valor Awards luncheon is taking place in Fairfax County this March. It is a presentation of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce and over 300 people are expected to attend. Proceeds will help support the Valor Scholarship program which helps the children of Medal of Valor recipients.

The awards will be given to those in the Fairfax County Police Department, the Office of the Sheriff, and the Fairfax County Fire and Police Services, who have put their own personal safety at risk to save another. There are several categories of awards: gold, silver, bronze, certificates of valor and lifesaving. Winners will receive plaques and printed certificates.

The event will be hosted by Leon Harris and Alison Starling of ABC7/WJLA-TV. It will be a good opportunity for the local business community to recognize those who keep them safe. In addition, it will also likely be a good networking opportunity.

Attendees will probably come from various communities in Fairfax County, including Reston. Local printing companies are often asked to provide marketing products such as flyers to help advertise events like this.

The Valor Awards luncheon will take place at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner on March 31 from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM. Tickets are $100 each or $1,000 for a table of 10. Call 703-749-0400 for more information.
