Awards honor those who make a difference

The Distinguished Service Awards dinner is taking place in about three weeks, presented by the Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Several local organizations will be presenting residents who have made a significant contribution to community services in Princeton. This has included groups such as Special Olympics Minnesota in past years. Those who are honored are nominated by both the public and by members and representatives of the various community groups.

In the past, the evening has consisted of a social hour where nominees and attendees are able to meet and discuss their contributions. No doubt many of them will be exchanging custom business cards so they can keep in touch in the future.

This will then be followed by a sit-down dinner and the awards presentations. There will likely be time for all of the winners to make a brief speech about the organization they support and the award in general.

It is likely that the nominees of these awards will be sent printed invitations. These items are often provided by Princeton stationery printing companies.

The Distinguished Service Awards dinner will be held at the Civic Center Park on April 12. For more information about this event, the awards, or the price of tickets and when they will be available, contact the Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce at 763-389-1764.
