Technology conference helps to launch new businesses

Tech Fest NW is returning to Portland for two days next month.

It is a technology conference that features speeches, workshops and parties. There is also a demonstration floor where the newest technology will be on display. In addition, there are two contests that help find new tech stars.

Some of those who will be speaking at this year’s conference are Rose Marcario from Patagonia, David Lee of Impossible Foods and Moovel’s Nat Parker; planned discussion topics have not been published yet.

The contests take place under the Pitch Fest NW banner. They are the StartUp competition where new companies make a pitch to industry professionals and the PSU CleanTech challenge for Portland State University Students that hands out $10,000 in grants and prizes.

This is also a networking opportunity for those already in the technology industry and for those just starting out to make new connections.

Tickets cost $149 for two days or $99 each day; VIP tickets can be purchased for $275 or $3,000.

No doubt many of those attending will be bringing along their business cards to exchange with their Portland business peers.

Tech Fest NW will be held at the Viking Pavilion at Portland State University from April 5 to 6. To find out more about the conference and to get a schedule for the event, visit the official website.
