Portland to enjoy yearly street festival next month

July 8, 2017 by

The annual Alberta Street Fair, presented by Alberta Main Street, is coming around for the 20th year in August.

Over 300 vendors are expected to be on hand to sell a variety of arts and crafts, food, and general merchandise, and several nonprofit and community organizations will also be providing information about their services and programs. Applications are still being accepted for vendors until July 28. Fees are $115 for arts and crafts, $140 to $170 for food, $90 for nonprofit and $135 for services. A discount is available to local vendors.

The fair will have two beer gardens and three music stages featuring entertainers of all genres. Food will also be available for purchase.

A Kids’ Corner will be set up on NE 18th Avenue and will feature games, art and crafts, and other fun activities. There will be a children’s parade on NE 15th beginning at 11:00 am, for which participants are encouraged to dress in costume or bring their favorite musical instrument.

This popular fair attracts a least 25,000 visitors each year. Organizers may invest in poster printing services to help get the word out in Portland.

The Alberta Street Fair will be held on NE Alberta between 10th and 30th on August 12, running from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Admission is free but a $2 donation is recommended. Call 503-683-3252 for the most current information.
