Portland celebrates St. Patrick with annual run

February 3, 2018 by

The Shamrock Run Portland is taking place next month.

This popular annual event consists of a half marathon, 15K, 8K, 5K, 1K, the Shamrock Stride, and the Leprechaun Leap. Fees for the half marathon are $95 per person, while the 15K through Shamrock Stride are $44 each for adults and $15 for children between the ages of 3 and 12. The Leprechaun Leap, where Liam the Leprechaun will make an appearance, is only for children and costs $15. The runs take place between the SW Naito Parkway and Pine and SW Yamhill and Naito.

Leading up to the run is the two-day Fitness Fair that will take place at the Oregon Convention Center. Runners can pick up their packages here, which include bibs. The fitness fair is set to feature over 80 booths from health and wellness-related vendors. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak to experts, sample food and pick up freebies. For the kids, Leprechaun Lane will feature games, balloon twisting and local sports mascots.

It is likely that many of the Portland vendors will be providing promotional products such as pens and fridge magnets to hand out to those who stop by their booths.

The Shamrock Run and Fitness Fair will be held from March 16 to 18. For the most up-to-date information, visit the official website.
