Fundraiser to get people running with dogs

April 27, 2018 by

Doggie Dash 2018 is taking place next month in Portland. It is presented by, and is a fundraiser for, the Oregon Humane Society.

The Doggie Dash consists of two separate run/walks for dogs and their owners: the Doggie Dash Classic is 1.5 miles along the Naito Parkway and the Bridge to Bridge is 2.5 miles and travels across both the Hawthorne and Steel bridges. Dogs must be kept on regular leashes, must be over six months old and have proof of vaccination. The registration fee is $50 for adults or $75 with a T-shirt, and $25 for children or $50 with a T-shirt. Participants are also encouraged to get pledges from family, friends and co-workers. The goal for this year is $900,000.

There will also be lots of family-friendly activities taking place during the day, such as several contests, a raffle and a photo booth. Dog Utopia will be providing treats and crafts and the Kids’ Corner will have face painting and games. Food will also be available for purchase and adults can enjoy a Libation Station.

Portland flyer printing companies are often asked to provide marketing materials to spread the word about fundraising events like this.

The Doggie Dash will be held at Tom McCall Waterfront Park on May 12, beginning at 9:00 AM. Call 503-285-7722 for the most current information.
