Event will showcase Columbia Gorge wines

The Portland Grand Tasting is taking place in the city next month, presented by the Columbia Gorge Winegrowers Association.

Guests will have the opportunity to taste more than 20 wines from Columbia Gorge vineyards, which they can enjoy with their free commemorative wine glass. They will also be served a variety of hors d’oeuvres and meet one-on-one with vintners.

This event is for the general public, the media and those in the trade. Representatives must show their business cards to be allowed into the event one hour early and for free; they will also have separate tasting opportunities during the evening. VIP tickets are also available for the public that will also allow them early entry, and cost $50 each. These guests will also enjoy a private VIP section, appetizers, and wine education sessions.

The Grand Tasting will introduce the public and the industry to wines they may not have heard of before. This helps to improve the local economy by encouraging people to purchase wines that have been produced locally.

Organizers will likely invest in printing services to spread the word about this event in the community.

The Portland Grand Tasting will be held at the Leftbank Annex on April 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Public tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door; admission is restricted to those aged 21 and over. Call 541-965-1528 for the most current information.
