The Portland Rose Festival is taking place in Portland, beginning at the end of this month and continuing for two weeks.

The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Play Happy’. The festival is set to start off with an opening night fireworks extravaganza that will feature a free concert at the RoZone from the One More Time Around Marching Band and Hit Machine.

Another activity is the Rose Festival CityFair which takes place only on weekends; each weekend will have a different theme. There will be a Kids’ Zone which will feature puppet shows, magic performances and craft activities, among other things.

Another popular event will be the Starlight Run. It will be held on June 2 and features a 3.1-mile course followed by a DJ dance party. Fees are $35 for adults in advance or $40 on the day and $30 for children between the ages of 7 and 18 or $35 on the day. There will also be food and market vendors in attendance.

The main part of the festival is always the Grand Floral Parade on June 9 which travels along the Naito Parkway. While it is free, seating is available for $15 general and $30 reserved outside the Memorial Coliseum.

Portland poster printing firms are often asked to provide products to advertise events such as this.

The Portland Rose Festival will be held from May 25 to June 10 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Call 503-227-2681 to learn more.
