Annual festival celebrates St. Johns

April 24, 2018 by

The 12th annual St. Johns Bizarre street festival is taking place next month in Portland.

The juried festival is set to feature over 90 arts and crafts vendors that will be selling a variety of items such as handmade jewelry, paintings, prints, and clothing. In addition, several community organizations will be on hand to provide information about their programs and services. Food will also be available for purchase. Fees for a 10 x 10-foot booth are $90 for arts and crafts, $50 for community groups, and $200 for food.

There will be musical entertainment, a beer garden and a number of children’s activities.

A big part of the day will be the 56th annual St. Johns Parade that will begin at 12:00 noon. This year’s theme is ‘Neighbors: Cheering Old, Greeting New’. Applications are still being accepted from those who wish to participate in the parade, and entry is free of charge. The parade will feature bands, equestrian riders, floats, vehicles, and many others. All of the participants will be judged.

Many of the participants in the parade may invest in banner printing services from a Portland print shop to make their floats more festive.

The St. Johns Bizarre will be held on May 12 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Admission is free. For the most up-to-date information about this event, visit the official website.
