The 26th annual Festa Italiana Portland is taking place next month over three days.

A celebration of Italian culture, the event will feature plenty of Italian entertainment and traditional foods. There will also be a beer and wine garden, and there will also be a variety of children’s activities and lots of dancing.

Some of the performers who are confirmed for this year are the Portland State University Opera, Ray Massa’s Eurorhythms, Mbrascatu, and the Olde World Puppet Theatre.

Leading up to the festival will be a week of Italian-related events, such as a bocce tournament on August 10 at Cedarville Park; competition is open and teams are made up of four players. The sport is part of the boules family and is similar to British lawn bowling.

There will also be a Festa Night at the Flicks at the 5th Avenue Cinema on August 22, beginning at 7:00 pm. The film screened will be ‘Famiglia Felice’ which will be in Italian with English subtitles.

No doubt families from all over the Portland area will be excited to attend the festival for at least one day. In order to advertise in the community, organizers may invest in brochures or flyers that can be inserted into local newspapers.

Festa Italiana Portland will be held at Pioneer Courthouse Square from August 24 to 25 from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM each day. Admission is free of charge. To get the most up-to-date information about the festival, visit the official event website.
