Healthy eating the focus of Port Washington workshops

Residents of Port Washington who want to learn how to live a heathier lifestyle will soon have an opportunity to participate in a series of classes that can help them to do just that.

The Food for Life: Kickstart Your Health classes have been planned for anyone who wants to lose weight, keep their weight at a healthy level, or just learn more about nutrition and eating for health. Those who participate will learn about making good food choices that can be a part of a maintaining overall healthful lifestyle.

The classes will cover a variety of topics, and the agenda includes cooking demonstrations during which the attendees will discover how they can make the same types of dishes at home. They will also have an opportunity to sample the different foods, and at the end of each session, they will walk away with three recipes they can add to their menu at home.

The classes will run for two hours each, and the fee for the entire series is $140 per person. A local marketing services provider will be able to supply an assortment of items that can help to promote an event like this to the public.
