Plymouth charity aims to raise $10,000 in one night

For more than a decade, a local charity in Plymouth has provided grants totaling more than $100,000 to area nonprofits. The charity, Giving Hope, Women’s Giving Circle, hopes to continue with its fundraising efforts during an event this week.

The organization is inviting 100 women to participate in a one-night-only fundraiser that seeks to raise $10,000. Additionally, the five-figure sum is going to be given to a nonprofit chosen by women who attend the event tomorrow, April 18.

Local fundraising organizations can use flyer printing to let people know about their programs and to get more people in the community involved. Part of Giving Hope’s mission is to encourage women to become more involved in philanthropy.

For the upcoming event, four area nonprofits will make a short presentation, explaining who they are, what they do, and how they would use the $10,000 grant. The organizations participating are Plymouth Canton Community Literacy Council, The Miracle League of Plymouth, First Step, and the Emily Ann Griffin Foundation.

Women who wish to be part of the fundraiser simply need to show up at the Art Van Furniture store in nearby Canton with a $100 check or cash, which will go towards the selected charity. Attendees will get to vote for the charity they think most deserves the grant money.
