In today’s busy world, getting a good night’s sleep can sometimes prove to be difficult. A Pittsburgh workshop will explore both the need for sleep and also ways that the individuals who participate can help to make sure they get the rest and relaxation they need.

The session will shed light on the process and mechanisms of sleep and explain why it is so important to the body and its overall state of health. There will be a discussion of how a lack of good sleeping habits can be linked to obesity, certain chronic illnesses and hormone issues.

Participants will discover habits they have that may be affecting their sleep, and receive tips about how they can replace these bad habits with ones that can leave them feeling well rested and healthy. Handouts for an event like this can be produced by a printer using digital copying techniques.

Hyla Urbany, a certified Holistic Health Coach, will be one of the facilitators of the workshop. She will talk about how nutrition and other lifestyle changes can have a positive effect on their sleeping patterns.

The session has been planned for the evening of December 6th, and there will be no admission fee charged to participate. It will be held in the East End Co-op, which can be found at 7516 Meade Street in Pittsburgh.
