Upcoming festival celebrates birthday of the country

An annual celebration of Independence Day is coming up next month, presented by the City of Peachtree.

The event will start off with a parade along Peachtree Parkway South beginning at 9:00 AM. Participation in the parade is open to Peachtree City and Fayette County residents, businesses, and community organizations. City residents can take part free of charge and there is a small fee for Fayette County residents. It will finish off at Shakerag Knoll/Huddleston Elementary school.

The celebration will continue later in the afternoon with the 4th City Fest at City Hall Plaza. There will be musical performances from artists like Cougar Love and the Final Answer Band, as well as children’s activities such as face painting, games, and bounce castles. A caricature artist will also be on hand and guests can pose for a souvenir picture in the photo booth. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

The evening will finish off with a firework display over Lake Peachtree at dusk.

It is likely that most Peachtree City residents are aware of this upcoming celebration, but for those who may not be, organizers will likely be distributing flyers and other advertising materials.

The Peachtree City Independence Day celebration will be held on July 4 beginning at 9:00 AM. For more detailed information about this family-friendly event, contact the City of Peachtree City at 770-487-7657.
