Festival showcases local artisans

The 40th annual Shakerag Arts and Crafts Festival is taking place next month over two days, presented by the Peachtree City Recreation and Special Events department.

The festival is set to feature arts and crafts vendors from all over Georgia and the United States. Vendors will be selling a variety of items such as handmade jewelry, pottery, clothing, and paintings. Vendor spaces are still available. The cost for both days is $125 or $150 with electricity. Food vendors will also be on hand.

In addition to the hundreds of arts and crafts vendors expected, there will also be plenty of activities for children, including games and hands-on art projects. Live entertainment will also be provided by local musicians and groups throughout the day.

Events like this are beneficial for both local artisans as well as the general public, since the artists get exposure and may find a new client and the public will have the opportunity to purchase a unique, handmade item suitable for gift giving. Peachtree City stationery printers are often asked to provide marketing materials for events such as this festival.

The Shakerag Arts and Crafts Festival will be held at Shakerag Knill at the McIntosh Trail Recreation Complex from September 16 to 17. Admission is free of charge. For the latest information, call PTC Recreation and Special Events at 770-631-2525.
