Afternoon of holiday-themed fun planned for Ocoee

November 26, 2017 by

The holidays are on the way in Ocoee, and in honor of the occasion, a special tree lighting event has been planned.

This will be the fifth year for the community’s tree lighting, and it has been organized by the Ocoee Parks and Recreation Department. While turning on the lights may be the highlight of the occasion, there will be lots more to see and do as well.

The event will be held at the Withers-Maguire House and Lakeshore Center. It will be family friendly, and young and old alike can come and meet Santa in person and have their photos taken with him. Both pony and horse drawn carriage rides will be offered to the public, and there will also be a silent wreath auction. Flyers that promote an event like this can be placed throughout the community to let the public know when and where it will be taking place.

Food lovers can pay a visit to one of the trucks that will be rolling in just for the occasion, and kids can make their own s’mores over the fire pit. Balloon and face painting artists will be showing off their skills to the crowd, all to music provided by a DJ service. Withers-Maguire House will be open for tours and there are lots of photo ops there for families and individuals alike.

This all happens next Saturday, December 2, and everyone will be most welcome. More details about the day have been added to the Ocoee website.
