Oakdale set to welcome summer with four days of fun

Oakdale will once again be bidding summer the warmest of welcomes with a special event that will kick off this season of fun.

Summerfest will be setting up shop in Walton Park, located at the corner of Hadley Avenue and 15th Street. A full agenda has been planned for the occasion, and residents and visitors to the community alike are welcome.

The schedule for the four-day celebration starts off on the Thursday night with a parade. The band shell will be the location for a variety of musical acts that will be providing entertainment throughout the event, and a big fireworks show has also been planned. Banner printing and other print services for an occasion like this can be performed by a local print company.

Along with all of this, there will be both 5k and 10k races, carnival rides, food and other vendors, a car show, a medallion hunt, bingo, and special activities for the kids. The organizers noted that they expect that the festivities will draw thousands, and they are accepting applications from businesses and not-for-profit groups that would like to be a part of the fun.

The Summerfest celebration will be kicking off on June 21, and it will run until June 24. The final date for vendor applications to be submitted is May 1st, and copies of these, along with further details, can be found on Oakdale’s website.
