Vegan market coming to Northvale

February 17, 2018 by

For the first time ever, Northvale will soon be hosting a vegan market, bringing intriguing vendors, special guests, and plenty of information with it.

Vendors scheduled to take part include Roots Café, Freakin Vegan, Absolute Green, and many others. Hippeas will be on hand to give away snacks made of chickpeas, and attendees might want to patronize a barber who operates out of a Volkswagen bus, Dapperways, which donates $3 to animal-related groups for every haircut given.

Ray Ippolito, the Director of Partnerships and Advocacy of the Catskill Animal Sanctuary, is a featured speaker. He will be discussing ‘The Ethics of Eating’, centering his remarks on the Standard American Diet (SAD) and the health and the environmental impacts it has.

Karen Ranzi is also scheduled to speak. An author and raw food expert, Ranzi is the author of the book ‘Creating Healthy Children: Through Attachment Parenting and Raw Foods’, published in 2010, as well as a 2014 recipe book that provides instructions on how to put together 115 vegan dishes.

The event is scheduled for March 3 at Northvale’s RAW Fitness, from noon until 5 pm. Admission is free.

For major events like this, organizers can help by working with a flyer printing company to create a handout listing the vendors and their products, as well as a schedule of speakers.
