Rock and rolling in Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. will be rocking out during the upcoming 2013 marathon. The Rock and Roll Marathon will take place in just over two weeks.

This is the second year for the marathon in the nation’s capital and runners will be engulfed in the history and sights of Washington D.C. Landmarks such as the White House, Washington Monument, Smithsonian Libraries, and other famous sites will be part of the journey for the runners.

Over 70 exhibitors will be on hand to distribute free samples, along with showcasing sports apparel, running gear and accessories, and presenting nutritional and health information. The Brooks Official Merchandise Store will be open prior to the actual race for last-minute purchases.

Signage and marketing communication materials are part of organizing and managing marathon events. Print companies play an important role by providing services such as flyer and poster printing, as well as signage such as banner printing. Announcing events of this type with ample lead time is critical in ensuring maximum participation and attendance.

Cowboy Mouth will headline the post-finish line concert and is free to attend. The New Orleans group performs approximately 200 shows per year, appears on television shows and radio stations, and has released over 10 records with sales exceeding 450,000 units. Additional bands will also be performing along the race routes.

Registration is available through the event website and is filling up quickly. The price of registration also includes the official race T-shirt, a swag bag, a finisher’s medal, and access to all course entertainment. The event starts at 7:30 am on March 16 on Constitution Avenue.
