Artists unite for Sugarloaf Craft Festival

January 4, 2014 by

Artists from across North America will gather together at the Sugarloaf Craft Festival near Washington D.C. at the Dulles Expo Center. The festival features fine arts and crafts in a marketplace setting.

The artists have the opportunity to showcase their talents at the prestigious Sugarloaf Craft Festival. Held in major cities throughout the year, the festivals are ranked in the top 10 for popularity of similar craft shows held throughout the USA.

Set in a marketplace environment, the craft shows offer artisans and craftspeople a public opportunity to display and sell their work. Each show offers anywhere from 300-500 spaces available for participants.

As each participating artist will have space for the work, it is important to draw attention to it for the purpose of generating interest and sales. Working with a local print company provides many choices for marketing materials. Flyer printing is a popular choice as the flyers can be distributed pre-event. They can also be handed out at a booth with an offer for future business sales.

Some of the artwork will include sculpture, jewelry, glass, pottery, home décor and accessories, garden décor and photography. Along with the top national artists, new or emerging artists will be introduced as they showcase the newest trends in many areas.

Interactive demonstrations are a highlight at the festival as master crafters teach visitors how to create art pieces such as wood turning, metal spinning, pottery and papermaking.

The festival will take place January 24-26. For more information or to apply for artist space, visit the Sugarloaf Craft Festival website.
