Festival celebrates the new wine season

April 17, 2017 by

The 15th annual Spring Celebration is taking place in Middletown next month.

Guests will have the opportunity to discover new wines and sample as many as they wish to. There will also be a variety of food samples.

Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the afternoon by the Little Compton Band. There will also be a grape-stomping contest and potato sack races in among the vines; participants will be chosen at random so those who wish to take part are encouraged to dress suitably.

In addition, guests can pose for pictures with several wine statues created by TEN31 Productions, a company that hires people to act as living statues for public events. There will also be plenty of places to eat to enjoy a glass of wine. The celebration is only open to adults aged 21 and over.

This annual event always attracts many people from all around the Middletown area. Organizers might invest in flyers to help spread the word.

The Spring Celebration will be held at Newport Vineyards on May 28 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm, and the grape-stomping contest will be held at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, while the sack race will take place at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $25 for the general public or $20 for Cru Club members. For the latest new about this upcoming event, contact the Vineyards at 401-848-5161.
