Annual fundraiser returns to Middletown

July 8, 2017 by

The Beach Bash for Norman Bird Sanctuary is taking place next month, and is a major fundraiser for the Sanctuary.

There will be plenty of activities going on that should appeal to people of all ages. Guests are encouraged to bring their own picnics or can purchase food from a food truck. There will also be beer, wine, lemonade and ice tea available, as well as ice cream and s’mores that will be served around a campfire.

Norman Bird Sanctuary staff will be providing a seining activity with children looking for fish and identifying them.

There will also be musical entertainment from the Kohaug Allstars, and guests are invited to bring their own personal watercrafts and water toys.

There will be a raffle with a grand prize of the use of a cottage in Western Coventry for one week. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six.

Sponsorships are also available from $250 up to $1,000, and those who contribute will be recognized at the event and on advertising posters.

No doubt organizers will be working with Middletown poster printing firms to create advertising that will be distributed throughout the area.

The Beach Bash for Norman Bird Sanctuary will take place at Third Beach on August 3 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, or the rain date of August 6. Tickets are $22 for Sanctuary members, $25 for nonmembers, and $10 for those under the age of 21. Call 401-846-2577 to get the latest information.
