Holiday market to help the Pennsylvania Ballet

The Nutcracker Market is taking place for two days in Philadelphia this December. It is a fundraising event for the Pennsylvania Ballet and its school.

A preview party the day before the market opens will give guests a sneak peek on what is available and the opportunity to buy items early. They will also be treated to refreshments, snacks, raffles, and even face painting.

The Nutcracker Market features over 50 artists and crafters, all chosen by a jury. They will be selling a variety of handmade and unique items such as painting, ceramics, and clothing. It may be the last chance to find the perfect gift for someone who is difficult to buy for.

There are also special events taking place during the market, which include origami lessons, visits from characters from the ballet ‘The Nutcracker’, daily performance by local community groups, and ‘make and take’ arts and crafts. Children can also sign up for two ‘Build a Gingerbread House’ workshops while their parents can relax in the cafe.

Lovers of the ballet from all over, including nearby Warminster, are likely to look forward to this market. It is likely to be publicized all over the area with items such as flyers from local printing companies.

The Nutcracker Market is taking place at Commonwealth Plaza from December 7-8. Admission is free. The preview party will take place on December 6 beginning at 6:00 pm and tickets are $100 per person. For more information, call 215-587-6916.
