Monroeville in the mood for festivities

The 8th annual Celebrate Monroeville will take place at the Monroeville Convention Center on September 13 from 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and free for children aged five and under. Each ticket comes with five taste tickets and those who bring a non-perishable food item will receive a sixth.

The celebration consists of the Taste of Monroeville and Monroeville Marketplace. The former allows visitors to sample food from local area restaurants. They also get to vote for the People’s Choice award, while professional critics can vote for the Critic’s Choice Award. The Monroeville Marketplace allows local businesses to exhibit and sell their products and services. Companies are encouraged to bring promotional items such as pens and hats to give away to passers-by. In addition, there will be stage performances and plenty of children’s activities.

Exhibit space is available to Monroeville Area Chamber of Commerce members for $175 for a single space and $295 for a double space, while non-members can rent space for $275 and $410. All exhibitors must supply their own signage. As most of the exhibitors will be from the Monroeville area, such as Plum, they will no doubt be working with local printing companies to prepare. Signage for their booth could be prepared by arranging for banner printing services. Banners are relatively inexpensive to create and they are reusable. In fact, a vinyl banner can be used for years and for any purpose or public event.
