Upcoming conference to help those in the art materials trade

April 5, 2014 by

The Art Materials World Conference and Tradeshow is taking place for seven days as April moves into May. It is hosted by the International Art Material Association and is open to those in the trade only. This includes those who manufacture, publish, and distribute art materials.

The conference will start off with a welcome reception at the Westin Pittsburgh, and a later President’s reception will be held at the Carnegie Museum of Art.

There is set to be free educational programming to discuss many aspects of the trade. Some of the topics are: ‘Stand up for the arts in America’, ‘Guerilla boxes’ and ‘Maintaining a rigorous practice’. Various companies will be showcasing their products and services at the tradeshow.

It is likely that among those attending this conference will be those who work for Pittsburgh graphic design and stationery printing companies. There will no doubt be lots of inspiration from the various exhibitors and the seminars may help with future projects, as well as give them a source for some of the materials they occasionally need.

The Art Materials World Conference and Tradeshow will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center for April 26 to May 3. Admission is free to International Art Materials Association members until April 20, while general admission is $30.
