Help develop Pittsburgh’s Riverfront

The 2012 Trail Mix(er) will take place at the Robot City Roundhouse on June 16 from 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm. Tickets are $50 in advance, $60 at the door, $35 for students, or $40 each for groups of 10 and up. $15 tickets are available for 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm admission.

The event is a fundraiser for Friends of the Riverfront, who are dedicated to environmental and recreational advancements on the Pittsburgh Riverfront. There will be a picnic-style dinner catered by Pittsburgh Barbecue Company, themed cash bars, robot exhibits, dancing (to the music of Slingshot Genius, Turbosonics, and DJ Mary Mack), a silent auction of items such as local entertainment and sports tickets, the presentation of the 2012 Martin J. O’Malley Award for Outstanding Trail Advocacy, and an array of artists’ exhibits. Guests will also get to walk on the newest segment of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail.

There are sponsorships available for between $500 and $5,000, with sponsors recognized in the program guide and in on-site signs. They will also be given a mention on the Friends of the Riverfront website and newsletter and will be thanked during the event. No doubt, Pittsburgh printing companies will be providing the signage and other decorations necessary during the event. It can almost be guaranteed that the materials they use for the signs will be environmentally friendly in keeping with the goals and beliefs of the Friends of the Riverfront. Printing companies, as a rule, purchase recycled papers and cardboards, use vegetable or soy-based inks, and dispose of any hazardous materials in the safest manner possible.
