Media is set to celebrate Halloween

October 26, 2013 by

Now that October is here, Halloween is just around the corner, and Media is showing that it’s not just for kids any more. The city is holding two events this weekend that should get everyone excited about the upcoming holiday.

The first event to take place is Halloween Extravaganza presented by the Media Recreation Board. It will feature plenty of games, food to eat, and goodie bags for all. There will also be a costume contest for those aged 0-5 and 6-10, and prizes will be awarded for the best ones. The extravaganza should be a safe, enjoyable event for children and their parents.

On the same day, but later in the afternoon, the 49th Delaware County Halloween Parade will travel along State Street to Edgemont. The parade, which is hosted by Town Talk Newspapers, will feature marching bands, antique cars, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and no doubt many costumes.

It is likely that Media printing companies will be providing some necessary products to organizers of both events. This might include banners to carry in the parade or flyers to advertise the extravaganza throughout the community.

The Halloween Extravaganza is taking place at the Media Community Center today, October 26, from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. To learn more about the day’s events, call 610-566-5210.

The Delaware County Halloween Parade, meanwhile, begins at 2:00 pm today, or tomorrow if the weather is wet. For more information about the parade, or how to take part, call 610-583-4432.
