Washington County Fair returns to the area this summer

July 20, 2013 by

The annual Washington County Fair will be coming back to the area for eight days this August.

The theme of this year’s fair is ‘Harvest your Dreams’, and there will be a wide variety of activities and events that will appeal to people of all tastes and ages. The fair will feature carnival rides, musical performances, a Fair Queen contest, a car show, and a demolition derby.

There will also be many vendors and exhibitors showcasing their products and services, along with food concessions, a pet parade, a petting zoo, harness racing, and a tractor pull. A Duncan Miller Glass show will also be available, featuring some beautiful artwork.

The fair is a good opportunity for local farmers, livestock producers, and artisans to show the general public what they do, while also serving as a chance for everyone to celebrate local agriculture and to become more aware of what is available in Washington County.

Organizers of the fair have likely invested in services from local printing companies, such as flyer printing and poster printing to advertise the event to nearby communities such as McMurray and encourage them to bring the family along to the event.

The Washington County Fair will take place at the Washington County Fairgrounds and Expo Center from August 10 – 17. Admission prices range between $6 and $9 each day, or a weekly pass is $30. Carnival rides are extra. For more information about the fair, call 724-225-7718.
