The 24th annual Tour de Strongland will take place in Vandergrift and other Strongland communities on September 9. Prior to that, on September 8 the Roaring Run will take place in Apollo. Participation fees for each event are $35 for adults or $5 for children, with registered riders will also receiving a race T-shirt.

The Roaring Run is three off-road races. Participants can choose to ride three, eleven, or fifteen miles beginning at 9:00 am. Those racing can get a free bicycle tune up.

The Tour de Strongland will also consist of three races – 10.8 miles, 21.5 miles, or 35.8 miles. There will also be separate children’s races and a women’s competition of 21.5 miles. Both events are sanctioned by the USA Cycling Federation. As with the Roaring Run, riders will be able to get a free bicycle tune-up. The races will begin and end on Grant Avenue in Vandergrift and there will be a classic car show taking place and several vendor booths will be set up. Vendors who wish to rent a booth can do so for $10.

Vendors are likely to come from all over the county, including nearby Leechburg. They will also no doubt be working with local printing companies to prepare for the event. Investing in banner printing services would ensure that their booth will be more noticeable than a booth without a banner. Another option is for organizers to use banners to thank those companies who are sponsoring the races.
