Remember the less-fortunate this holiday season

The Lansdale Business Association’s Annual Community Housing Drive is currently in full swing. Each year, the association chooses one needy family to collect for over the holidays. The family is asked what they would like most of all and those in the community who can, donate those items. Information such as favorite colors and items most needed is shared with the public. This year the family asked for toys and basic household items. Donations can be dropped off at a number of businesses in Lansdale.

Your business can help by encouraging your employees to help this Lansdale family. Creating an informational poster, printing it out and posting it in a general area is one way to encourage them. Maybe even turn it into a contest where everyone who donates gets entered into a draw and either wins a day of with pay or a gift card.

In addition to the Annual Community Housing Drive, the Community Housing Service accepts donations all year round. The items they most need are non-perishable and canned food, infant supplies and gift cards.

The CHS is a non-profit organization that has been providing help to the community since 1983. The provide resources for the homeless, crisis intervention, domestic violence counseling and transitional housing. Three programs that they provide are the Emergency Services Program to help the homeless and the near-homeless, the Domestic Violence Program which provides transitional housing for women and children escaping abuse, and Ezra House which provides temporary housing to single homeless men.
