Phoenix Awards to celebrate business in Shenango Valley

April 12, 2013 by

The Phoenix Awards luncheon will be taking place in Sharon this May.

The annual awards session celebrates excellence in those businesses who are current members of the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce. Nominations were received by the chamber up until the mid-February deadline and those who were named must reside and do business in Shenango Valley.

The awards to be given out during lunch will include ‘New Business Startup’ for companies who have only been in existence for 18 to 36 months, ‘Entrepreneur’ for those in business from 24-48 months, ‘Growth, small manufacturing’ for those with fewer than 50 employees, Non-profit/Service Organization, and Beautification Award. Winners from last year included such local names as Eyes of Faith Optical, First National Bank, and Clarencedale Cake.

The luncheon itself is bound to be an excellent networking opportunity for chamber members. They will have the chance to find out from the winners of the awards themselves what they did to deserve it and how they can emulate that success. Many members from near and far, including Hermitage, will likely be arranging for business card printing services with their local print company, as there will be time before, during and after lunch for those attending to discuss business and to exchange cards.

The Phoenix Awards luncheon is due to take place at the Corinthian in Sharon on May 16 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. For more information, such as this year’s costs to attend, call 724-981-5880.
