Easton woman makes her reality TV debut

Reality television has turned its attention to the world of Manhattan art galleries with the premiere of the Bravo show ‘Gallery Girls’. Maggie Shaffer, a native of Easton, is one of the young women featured on the show, which premiered on Bravo on Monday, August 13 at 10:00 pm.

From a young age, Shaffer was destined for a career in the art world. She says that her parents took her to art museums throughout her childhood and teenage years. Shaffer graduated from Easton’s Lafayette College in 2010 with a double major in English Literature and Studio Art/Art History. She landed several prestigious internships in New York City, including one at Christie’s and another at Eli Klein Fine Art. Her internship at Eli Klein is featured on the new show.

The show ‘Gallery Girls’ matches Shaffer with six other young women working in the Manhattan art gallery world. Each of the women featured on the show is working to build her professional career and get somewhere within the art world. Since it is a reality show, there is plenty of drama, as the women clash over parties, fashion, and men. The program gives viewers an inside look at the art scene, with the conflict between Brooklyn and Manhattan lifestyles takes center stage. Since most of the women are unpaid interns, the issue of making it in New York on a limited budget comes up as well.

To promote her new role on the show, Shaffer might consider business card printing. The new business cards could list her current position and advertise the fact that she is on the television program.
